  • Summary:

    The Fleet Service Technician II, is responsible for performing annual CDE inspection as well as inspecting, diagnosing, and performing major repairs on school buses, vans, trucks, and a variety of powered fleet equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation. This role services all vehicle systems, including braking, electrical, HVAC, steering, suspension, drivetrain, fuel, hydraulic, and cooling systems, and independently performs complex diagnostics and the replacement or overhaul of major components such as engines and transmissions. Work is performed in shop and field settings, including emergency service calls and adverse weather conditions. The position prepares vehicles for emissions and opacity testing, and provides guidance to other mechanics. This position accurately documents repairs, parts, and labor using fleet management software, and supports snow removal operations and performs school bus driver duties as assigned
