SUMMARY Provide supervision necessary to ensure that District vehicles and equipment are maintained and repaired safely, effectively, and efficiently.  Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Vehicle Maintenance program including, personnel, preventative maintenance, repairs, , school bus fleet, support vehicles, snow blowers, lawn mowers, and governmental compliance.  Train new mechanics, bus Drivers and other personnel on proper use and care of equipment. Prioritize and organize work to be done. Develop a maintenance schedule and quotas for mechanics to ensure efficiency in the fleet department. Evaluate mechanics and monitor performance throughout the year.  Schedule and assist in snow removal for the transportation facility. Respond to accidents and assist with student, staff and vehicle needs.   Assist Director on budgets, specifications, bidding and ordering new vehicles.
